Flexible Work Pilot Program Update for City Workers

DC 37 Family,

I’m pleased to share with you that the Flexible Work Committee has issued its first recommendations for a remote-hybrid pilot program as agreed to by the Union and the City in the 2021-2026 citywide economic agreement. Read the full announcement here.

The Remote Work Pilot Program includes the following terms:

  • The program will roll out to City agencies in the coming weeks.
  • The pilot will run through May 31, 2025 with the option to renew for one additional year.
  • Eligible employees will be allowed to remote work up to two days per week.
  • An acknowledgement form will be distributed by the employee’s agency to those eligible to participate.
  • Employee participation in the pilot is voluntary.
  • Information on eligibility and procedure will be communicated to employees by your respective City agency.

It is important to note that the committee’s work does not end here. The committee will continue to review City agencies’ plans for implementing hybrid work along with compressed tours, flex time and other alternative schedules for those members whose job functions are not conducive to remote work. Thank you to the Local presidents and DC 37 staff who serve on the committee and are conducting their due diligence while representing the many needs of our membership.

In Solidarity,

Henry A. Garrido
Executive Director
